Welcome to a new experience from CNN Digital and CNN Radio.  It’s an audio blog.  It’s a listening experience you can share.  Take it with you as you drive your car, ride the train, walk the treadmill or run the roads.  Listen to our introduction and hear what we have in store for you.

Embed America: Transportation, the invisible pocketbook issue

Jonathan Binder/CNN

Our Embed America election series features voters from across the country describing the issues important to them and their community. In Durango, Colorado, officials have approved an ambitious transportation plan that would put a bus stop within a fifteen minute walk or bike ride from any point in the city. It’s one approach to address a nationwide issue of traffic congestion. In Durango, some feel it’s an issue the presidential candidates should be talking about more.

Embed America: Ask Grand Canyon

Jonathan Binder/CNN

A road trip through the American South West wouldn’t be complete without a stop at the Grand Canyon. CNN Radio’s Embed America team stopped at Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. We spoke to a family who doesn’t share the same political views about this year’s US presidential election. Produced and edited by Jonathan Binder.

Embed America: Ask Roswell, NM

Jonathan Binder/CNN

As Election Day gets closer, many voters across the country are asking, “Who are you voting for?” But in Roswell, New Mexico, the question on most people’s minds is, “Do you believe?” CNN Radio’s Embed America team made a stop in Roswell, New Mexico, and spoke with an employee of the UFO Museum about politics in 2012. Produced and edited by Jonathan Binder

Embed America: Postcard from Arkansas

Jonathan Binder/CNN

As we travel across the country for Embed America, we’ll be sending in the occasional sound postcard from the road. CNN Radio’s John Sepulvado and Jonathan Binder sent this postcard from Crater of Diamonds State Park, where families come carrying shovels with the hopes of striking it rich. Arizona, Georgia, California, Florida and at least twenty other states have cut park funding due to budget shortfalls. One park visitor, John Burbee, says he’d like to see the parks fully funded.

Embed America: Ask Austin

CNN Radio’s Embed America series has us crossing the country telling stories of voters and the issues important to them this election year. In Austin, Texas we ran into the band, If This Trailer Had Wings and the guys were more than willing to talk politics. Produced and edited by Jonathan Binder.

Embed America: A ‘His and Hers’ health care dilemma

Jonathan Binder/CNN

CNN Radio reporters traveled cross-country to get a look at the 2012 election from the ground up, visiting communities along the way to explore what issues are important to Americans and how voters feel about their country’s future.

From her home in Little Rock, iReporter Janet Copeland says she pays more than $9,000 for health insurance each year. She’s 70 years old and lives on a fixed income. She recently remarried and her health expenses have only gone up as a result. For our Embed America series, CNN’s John Sepulvado and Jonathan Binder take a look at how the health care debate filters down to people like Copeland and how it shapes the way she’ll vote in November.
